Knowing History Dooms Us To Repeat It

History really serves no purpose except to ensure that we don't forget our heritage. History never really repeats itself, there's always a handful of people each generation that are power hungry, that's just how it is. There will be another Hitler, Osama, Hussein, Dungh, Castro, etc. Doesn't matter how much you learn there's always going to be terrorists and threats to the U.S. because we're enemies with so many countries. It's kind of hard to let stuff go and rebuild the bridges we've burnt down when we're constantly reminded of why they got burnt down. Seems like we're more doomed to repeat history if we know our history doesn't it? That's just common sense, I didn't have to read that in any book.

I mean that's why there are still racist people because so many people teach hatred because it's part of their history and heritage. Think about it, Stereotypes, friends, enemies, etc it's all due to knowing your heritage.

How many people have heard this saying ''If she can't use your comb don't bring her home"? That's teaching our generation to be racist in a sense. Sure it's to "preserve our race", but we're always claiming that color shouldn't matter when we're trying to get important things done like get a job or get into a school, so why the hell does color matter when it comes to relationships? In a couple hundred years we're all gonna be gone anyway who cares about preserving the race, just be happy!

I mean..I'm not claiming that there's no basis for learning history, I know there are dozens of benefits to knowing our history. It can prevent us from reliving some of the past horrors by nipping them in the bud early. Diseases and the such are some examples.

I mean I can't say that learning history has no benefits because there are millions of archaeologists out there that get paid thousands of dollars to dig around in the sand looking for signs of early civilization...why? The hell if I know... what do they want to learn from someone who lived billions of years ago? We're so much more advanced than they were then anyway.

What? Do we want to know if humans evolved from apes? Who cares? Will that realization make us release all the monkeys from zoos and experimental testing under the assumption that they will one day become humans? NO! People are still going to live the way that they lived before this realization. It's not going to change anything!!!

We always are trying to get people to forget the past and move on...well everyone the past is the past stop trying to dig all the Earth up looking for signs of something that you never were! Just live your life people geez!
